All is progressing nicely with our mini beast topic. The children are enjoying finding out facts
about mini beasts and 1CR are preparing for their ‘creepy crawly’ assembly on
Tuesday 12th May.
In maths, we have been counting in twos, fives and tens and
learning about multiplication. The
children should be familiar with the terms ‘groups of’ and maybe even be able
to read the number sentence 2 x 3 = 6 as two groups of three equals 6.
Later this month, the children will be taking part in a Sing
as One morning. All the Year One
children will be joined by children from other schools for a morning of singing
together. They have been practising the
songs and might even sing them for you.
Here are the titles of a few:
‘The Tiny Ant’, ‘The Bare Necessities’, ‘I want to be like you’.
Thank you for sending in the permission slips and donations
for our school trip. We will need a few
parent volunteers to come along with us.
Thank you for those who have already come forward. If you think you might be able to join us,
could you please let us know.
