Kite Festival Day

Kite Festival Day was a great success. We enjoyed learning all about kites and then made our own. Ask us how to make them. We are experts! The best part was flying them on the school field. Thank you to those who brought in kites to share with the class.

Our trip to Bath City Farm

Welcome to Term 6. How time flies!

Year 1 had a smashing start to the final term this year as we went to Bath City Farm. The farm was looking beautiful with a wide variety of flowers, vegetables and herbs now being grown. The view from up there was stunning. We had the chance to feed chickens, ducks, guinea fowl and goats. We saw a huge pig called Mathilda with her three month old piglets and two Gloucester Old Spots. We went minibeast hunting down in the allotments where we were lucky enough to find a frog and some newts as well as looking at bees, spiders and ladybirds using a mini beast magnifier. A great day was had by all and the predicted heavy rain stayed away until we got home. Phew! A huge thank you to all the staff/parent helpers who made the day possible. An even bigger thank you to 1CR and 1K for you enthusiasm and good manners. A member of staff said “they are really well behaved children.”

Next Monday (8th June) we start off our next Newbridge 50 topic with a bang. We are having a Kite Festival Day! This will involve making and flying kites. If you have any kites at home that you would be willing to share with us in school, please bring them in on Monday in a named bag. Many thanks.

“Oh let’s gooooooo, fly a kite!”
