Mad about Mini-beasts!

We hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather.  Long may it last!  You might have noticed our new covered area outside both Year one classrooms.  It has been lovely this week, to let the children take some of their learning outside and we will try and use the space as often as possible.

Thank you for doing the homework with the children.  It was great to read your comments.  This week the homework is focussing on number bonds to either ten or twenty.

In literacy we have been reading the story of James and the Giant Peach and learning about mini-beasts.  In maths we have been working on finding a half and a quarter of shapes and quantities.

For our PE homework for the next few weeks we would like the children to practise walking upstairs, lifting their knees and elbows, driving them upwards!  (Don’t forget opposite arm to leg!)

Here are the spellings we will be testing the children on next Wednesday (29th April)
and the following Wednesday (6th May).
